IMAGINE BELIZE

Institute for Village Studies

Would you like to help us bring educational and sustainable community development opportunities to Mayan and Garifuna villages in Belize? You can earn a quarter or a semester or more of credit through individualized study and research in a culturally and biologically diverse setting. Our work focuses on two villages located between the Jaguar Reserve and the Caribbean Sea. Your study also includes travel to Guatemala, Yucatan and Cuba. Our program provides opportunities for higher learning through contribution and exploration. Areas of studies include: herbal medicine, archeology, classroom teaching, culture, and sustainable ecology. The warm sea, the clear reef waters, the lush jungles, and the villages of Belize beckon.

If you have any questions, contact us through email at: admin@villagestudies.org.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide learning experiences through service, exploration and study in developing nations. Our purpose is twofold:

first to provide contracting educational groups with opportunities for independent research, studies in a variety of disciplines, and service in villages;

secondly, to support community development opportunities defined by host villages.
